Let’s rediscover Massaquano, one of the oldest hamlets of Vico Equense, perched on the slopes of Mount Faito, which still retains its medieval street layout almost intact, with narrow streets linking the two historic districts: Santa Lucia and Santa Caterina. The small, narrow, elongated square is characterised on one side by the Chapel of Santa Lucia, which houses a cycle of 14th-century frescoes from the Giotto school—a unique example on the Sorrento Peninsula—and on the other by the façade and steep staircase of the parish church of San Giovanni Battista, flanked by the famous Congrega di S. Maria a Chieia. This itinerary ends at the Belvedere di Trina del Monte in the village of S. Salvatore, above the Sperlonga/Via Minervia path.
