Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amistà – Dreem
From October 18-20, 2024, the Veneto region is preparing to host the third edition of Venetian and Friulian Villas Day, an event that celebrates the cultural, artistic and historical heritage of the magnificent Venetian and Friulian villas. After the great success of the last edition, which attracted more than 20,000 visitors, the event promises to provide new experiences and opportunities for discovery, thanks to a program full of initiatives designed for everyone.
Organized by the Association for Venetian Villas (AVV) and the Regional Institute for Venetian Villas (IRVV), the Day is distinguished by its inclusive and innovative approach. This year, the protagonists will not only be the magnificent buildings and their gardens, but also the owners of the villas who, with their enthusiasm and stories, will bring to light the deep bond that unites them to these historic places. Through videos and meetings, guests will learn anecdotes and curiosities that enrich the narrative of these residences, as well as explore their cultural identity.

A key element of this edition is the conference to be held on October 18 at Villa Selvatico in Battaglia Terme. This initiative, open to the public with reservations, will be an opportunity to explore the topic of the Venetian Villas ecosystem, a heritage that encompasses cultural traditions, agricultural practices, and an important landscape and social value. Experts will discuss the importance of ensuring a sustainable approach, reflecting on how the history of the Serenissima Republic can teach us how to preserve and enhance these extraordinary resources.
Over the course of the weekend, October 19-20, the villas will open their doors to the public, offering distinctive thematic experiences. Proposals range from heritage tours and outdoor activities for adults and families, to high-quality wine and food tastings, and even opportunities to stay in the magical atmosphere of these historic buildings. Through this variety of experiences, Venetian Villas Day aims to attract not only local visitors but also an international audience, an aspect facilitated by the availability of an English-language website.

In addition, the AVV has recently created a “Time Line” illustrating the history of the Venetian Villas, from their origins in 421 AD to the present day. This infographic will serve to contextualize the villas and their significance within a larger historical narrative, allowing visitors to appreciate the richness of Veneto’s heritage in a larger context.
Aiming to enhance the beauty of the area and raise awareness of Veneto culture, Venetian Villas Day is sponsored by the National Tourism Agency and the Veneto Region. Culture and history lovers cannot miss this extraordinary opportunity to explore a heritage rich in stories to tell.
