City life, you know, offers a lot, but a romantic weekend getaway is what you need to be able to recharge your energy. Lovers of nature, villages, and slow tourism living in the city, this post is for you: today we suggest a location full of charm, just a few kilometers from Bergamo, Brescia, but also from Milan.

We are in Lovere, a village nestled in the Orobie bergamasche park that overlooks Lake Iseo. Yes, because the lake, with its romantic and twilight atmosphere is a perfect autumn destination. And Lovere the ideal village to spend a weekend in peace and relaxation.

Starting from this magnificent village, we have designed for you an itinerary that will include many points of interest on Lake Iseo, all to be discovered: with friends, as a couple, with family and why not, even solo!

Beauty and history

Lovere, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, located between the upper Sebino and the mouth of the Cavallina valley has Celtic and Lombard origins. Strolling through the alleys of the village, we recommend you stop to visit the Church of Santa Maria in Valvendra, the largest church in the diocese of Brescia.

Intended as a votive shrine dedicated to the Virgin of Graces by the families of the village, who had become considerably wealthy through trade. The interior is divided into three naves: the nave is entirely frescoed by Brescia-born Floriano Ferramola; the side naves, covered by cross vaults, feature architectural mock-ups that accommodate figures of Prophets and Sibyls.
You will be won over!

Relax green in Spa

Taking a day to visit the Lake Iseo area means deciding to get in deep contact with nature, and begin to detoxify from the hectic and stressful pace of the city. And what better way to do this than by being pampered in a nice spa?

The area is home to many of them, and you can easily locate the perfect one for you. With a lake view, of course!

Sports and nature

For the more energetic, this area has plenty of outdoor activities, perfect for the fall season. Temperatures are optimal, and there are plenty of bike trails, from the Bossico Plateau to the GimondiBike and the Valcalepio Road. For those who prefer good, healthy hiking to biking, Mount Guglielmo is perfect. A breathtaking panorama that is Instagram-proof and will captivate Nordic walkers.

Tranquility in the Sebino peat bogs

Autumn colors will gently embrace you as you stroll through the Sebino peat bogs. A sense of absolute peace dominates in this unspoiled nature. The entrance fee is symbolic: just 1 euro is enough to cross the territory, on foot and by bike, following the marked trails. This destination definitely represents the most suitable for family travelers, due to the beauty and simplicity of the trails, which are also perfect for children.

Also recommended for animal lovers: there are plenty of them, all to be photographed!
