Hotel Castello Malicas

The beautiful Castello Malicas Hotel is located in the center of the town of Galtellì, Sardinia, just a few minutes’ walk from the historic center and 10 minutes’ drive from the beach, which can also be reached by bus in the summer months. The hotel is housed within an imposing rustic castle and offers a unique stay in a simple, rural yet comfortable, spacious and pleasant environment.

Hotel Castello Malicas is located in Galtellì, a village that still retains its medieval charm, thanks to its impressive architectural buildings. A true Mediterranean paradise. Less than 30 kilometers away are other enchanting beaches, as well as interesting archaeological sites, museums dedicated to local traditions, and locations for trekking, climbing, horseback riding, diving and other sports. Near the hotel there are supermarkets, bars, restaurants, bus stops, and a playground for the little ones.
The easiest way to reach the hotel is by car or bus while the city center is a short distance away. The nearest airport is Olbia, about an hour’s drive away. For those arriving by car, there is free parking available right in front of the hotel, while motorcycles can be parked in the hotel’s internal parking lot.
The hotel was built in the early 1900s and has a structure reminiscent of that of medieval castles. The hotel includes 2 separate buildings surrounded by the garden.

The room where breakfast is served today once housed the kitchen, where the staff prepared among other things the traditional carasatu bread. In the room you can still admire the old wood-burning oven. The other building was formerly used as a stable and now houses the economy type room. The castle was built on top of a basaltic rock and boasts a panoramic terrace from which you can admire the gentle Cedrino Valley and the surrounding mountains. You can enjoy the beautiful view while sipping a good wine.

The hotel has 7 rooms, all with private bathroom, shower, toiletries, hairdryer, TV, telephone, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Water, soft drinks and local wine are available upon request, as well as local cheeses and cold cuts to enjoy as an aperitif on the terrace. You can also request a catering service to have a barbecue or organize a small event.
