Unicorn Festival
Event description
This event ended on 12 July 2026.
From 10 to 12 July 2026, the medieval village of Vinci, in the province of Florence, will once again open its gates to the world of fantasy with the 20th edition of the Unicorn Festival, Italy’s largest fantasy festival. Over three days, the historic centre is transformed into a universe populated by legendary creatures, knights, wizards, elves, cosplayers and artists from all over Italy.
Having reached the prestigious milestone of its 20th anniversary, the event offers a packed programme with over 300 events spread across six major themed areas, dedicated to the worlds of fantasy, science fiction, steampunk, horror and the Middle Ages. An immersive experience that attracts thousands of visitors every year and makes Vinci one of Italy’s capitals of fantasy culture.
Over the course of the three days, the public will be able to enjoy live shows, concerts, artistic performances, historical battles, re-enactments, travelling entertainment and spectacular shows that will bring the town’s squares and alleyways to life. There will also be interactive workshops, activities for children, meetings with special guests and numerous initiatives dedicated to fans of role-playing games and fantasy culture.
There will also be plenty of space dedicated to the traditional themed markets, where visitors can find handicrafts, accessories, costumes, books, gadgets and creations inspired by fantasy worlds. Among the most eagerly awaited events are the cosplay contests, which every year attract spectacular performers and costumes from all over Italy.
The Unicorn Festival is designed to engage visitors of all ages, offering an experience that combines fantasy, entertainment and fun in one of Tuscany’s most picturesque villages. To make it easier for visitors to get there, free car parks with a shuttle service and dedicated transport links from Empoli will be available.
With spectacular sets, a fairytale atmosphere and hundreds of events, the 2026 Unicorn Festival reaffirms its status as one of Europe’s most important fantasy events, transforming Vinci for three days into a place where magic becomes reality.
