Patronal Feast of San Gimignano
Every January 31, the city of San Gimignano celebrates its patron saint, St. Gimignano, bishop of Modena who died in 387. The day opens with solemn celebrations in the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, in the presence of civil and religious authorities. At the same time, the Duomo and Cisterna squares come alive with a traditional fair in honor of the saint, including stalls, local flavors and a festive atmosphere. A celebration that combines spirituality, history and community life in the heart of the Tuscan village.
