Pici Festival of Celle sul Rigo 2026
This event ended on 31 May 2026.
The Pici Festival of Celle sul Rigo returns from 29 to 31 May 2026 to the village of Celle sul Rigo, marking its 55th edition: a significant milestone for one of the most authentic events in the Tuscan tradition.
This historic event pays tribute to pici, the traditional handmade pasta with its characteristic irregular thickness, a symbol of local peasant cuisine. During the festival, the village is transformed into a veritable open-air workshop, where visitors can watch the artisanal preparation of the pasta using methods handed down through generations.
Organised by the Società Filarmonica di Celle sul Rigo, which also celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2026, the festival represents a moment of strong community identity, where tradition, music and conviviality intertwine.
Among the new features of this year’s festival is the introduction of compulsory seat reservations, a measure designed to enhance the visitor experience and guarantee the quality of the product. The pici and sauces remain strictly handmade, with production times and processes that cannot be industrialised.
The programme runs over three days:
- Friday 29 and Saturday 30 May, from 7 pm, with dinners accompanied by live music
- Sunday 31 May, the main day featuring lunch from 12.30 pm, a performance by the Philharmonic Orchestra and musical events in the afternoon, leading up to the closing dinner
The Sagra dei Pici is not just a food festival, but an immersive experience that tells the story and captures the spirit of a region, where every dish is an expression of passion, tradition and community.
