Luigi Fagioli Trophy

📅 21 August 2026 – 23 August 2026

Event description

The Luigi Fagioli Trophy returns to Gubbio for the 61st edition of the historic hill climb race, a key event in the national and European motorsport calendar.

Included in the calendars of the Italian Supersalita Championship and the Italian Mountain Speed Championship, the competition takes place along the famous 4,150-metre route that climbs from the historic centre of Gubbio towards Madonna della Cima, passing through the spectacular Gola del Bottaccione.

The route combines technical skill, speed and extraordinary scenery, offering drivers a challenging course set amidst one of Umbria’s most picturesque natural settings.

The event features numerous racing categories, from modern competition cars to historic vehicles, including twin-cylinder cars and the Assominicar Challenge, providing enthusiasts with a spectacular motorsport spectacle.

The Luigi Fagioli Trophy is one of the flagship events in Italian hillclimbing and traditionally brings the main national championships in the discipline to a close, attracting drivers, teams and spectators from all over Italy.

The history of the competition dates back to 1966, when the organising committee decided to dedicate the race to the great driver from the Marche region, Luigi Fagioli, a resident of Gubbio by choice and a legendary figure in Italian motor racing.

Alongside the race, the programme includes supporting events, meetings and activities dedicated to motor racing culture, transforming Gubbio into a hub for hillclimb and motor racing enthusiasts.
