Early Summer Tortellata
Event description
The summer season in Campiglia Marittima kicks off with one of the most eagerly awaited culinary events of the summer: the Early Summer Tortellata, scheduled for 26 and 27 June and 3 and 4 July 2026. For two consecutive weekends, the medieval village of Val di Cornia invites residents and visitors alike to rediscover the most authentic flavours of Tuscan tradition in a festive and convivial atmosphere.
From 7.30 pm, Piazza Benifei (formerly Piazza Dogali) will be transformed into a huge open-air dining area where the star of the show will be the famous Maremma tortelli, prepared using traditional artisan methods and served with some of the most popular sauces of the local cuisine.
Alongside the tortelli, the menu will also feature delicious fresh pappardelle, served with a rich wild boar ragù, a classic Bolognese ragù, or a more delicate butter and sage sauce, which perfectly brings out the quality of the handmade pasta.
Rounding off the culinary offering will be platters of local cured meats and cheeses, selected to showcase the finest products of the Tuscan rural tradition. A journey through authentic flavours that tells the story of the gastronomic culture of the Maremma and the Val di Cornia through genuine produce and recipes handed down through the generations.
The Early Summer Tortellata is much more than just a festival: it is a chance for the community to come together and the perfect opportunity to experience the village during one of the most pleasant seasons of the year, enjoying good food, good company and the relaxed atmosphere of summer evenings.
A stroll through the streets of Campiglia Marittima’s historic centre before or after dinner also offers the chance to discover one of Tuscany’s most charming medieval villages, with its cobbled alleyways, ancient walls and views stretching out over the hills and the sea of the Etruscan Coast.
Organised by A.S.D. Campiglia 1914 under the patronage of Campiglia Marittima Town Council, the event revives a tradition that attracts numerous visitors every year, all keen to savour the local cuisine in an authentic, family-friendly atmosphere.
With fresh handmade pasta, local produce and evenings filled with conviviality, the 2026 Early Summer Tortellata is the ideal way to welcome summer in the heart of Tuscany.
