Summer Carnival on the Water
Event description
This event ended on 27 June 2026.
On 27 June 2026, Comacchio will once again come alive with the enchanting Carnival on the Water, one of the most original and spectacular events of the Italian summer. Now in its 13th year, this unique event transforms the canals of the historic centre into a vast floating stage, where imagination, music and tradition come together in a magical atmosphere.
What makes the Comacchio Carnival so special is precisely its water-based spirit: traditional boats are transformed into spectacular, decorated and illuminated allegorical vessels, true masterpieces created by the skill of local craftsmen. Each boat tells a different story, filling the canals with fantastical characters, colourful scenery and captivating choreography.
Gliding slowly past the bridges, narrow streets and squares of the lagoon town, the boats offer a fascinating spectacle that draws residents and visitors alike into a huge communal celebration. Accompanying the parade will be music, shows, entertainment and activities designed for all ages.
Making the event even more iconic will be the return of the charming mascot Forcolina, symbol of the Carnival on the Water and loved by adults and children alike.
The summer edition of the Carnival also offers the perfect opportunity to experience the historic centre of Comacchio in a completely different light, amidst reflections on the water, ancient architecture and the timeless atmosphere of the ‘little Venice’ of the Po Delta.
