Borgo in Festa

On 31 May and 1 June 2026, Castro dei Volsci will host the third edition of Borgo in Festa, an event that brings the heart of the Ciociaria region to life with food, folk traditions, crafts and music.

For two days, the charming Via Civita and the historic centre of the village will be transformed into an immersive journey through authentic flavours, performances and local culture, offering visitors an experience that captures the true spirit of the region.

Known as the ‘balcony of Ciociaria’, Castro dei Volsci will welcome residents and tourists alike to its medieval alleyways, panoramic views and festive atmosphere, all of which highlight the village’s historical identity.

The programme kicks off on Saturday 31 May with the traditional Picchero throwing in Piazza IV Novembre, an ancient folk game linked to local peasant traditions.

On Sunday 1 June, the village will come alive from early morning with vintage markets, pottery demonstrations, traditional games, live music and performances designed for all ages.

From the afternoon, Via Civita will become the heart of the gastronomic trail, with stalls and shops dedicated to the finest produce of the Ciociaria region, including traditional dishes, local products and classic recipes such as the famous ‘pecora al sugo’.

Borgo in Festa thus reaffirms itself as an event that combines conviviality, historical memory and the promotion of the local area, offering a special opportunity to discover the authentic culture of the Ciociaria region.
