Christmas Market 2025 in Castelrotto

Between the snow-covered rooftops of the Alpe di Siusi and the majestic peaks of the Sciliar, the village of Castelrotto (Kastelruth) hosts one of South Tyrol’s most intimate and atmospheric Christmas markets every year. From November 29 to December 28, 2025, the historic village square comes alive with lights, scents and melodies, giving visitors a warm and authentic atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of big cities.

The Castelrotto Christmas Market celebrates tradition and simplicity, with a focus on local handicrafts: among the stands you can find hand-knitted sweaters and socks, wood carvings and figurines for the nativity scene, handmade candles, crocheted work and felt products.

There is no shortage of typical South Tyrolean specialties, from the enveloping scent of mulled wine to the sweet taste of Zelten and gingerbread, as well as hot teas and mountain treats. Everything is accompanied by Christmas music, lit lanterns and twinkling candles, making the center of Castelrotto a fairy-tale place.

Among the most anticipated events is the famous Christmas Concert of the Kastelruther Spatzen, the “Castelrotto Sparrows”: a moment of pure emotion, where traditional carols resonate among the alpine houses and fill the heart with Christmas spirit.
