60th Woodcutters’ and Forestry Festival
Event description
The 60th Woodcutters’ and Forestry Festival is one of the most authentic and spectacular events in the Fiemme Valley, an occasion that celebrates the deep bond between man and nature, between tradition and craftsmanship. Scheduled for Sunday 6 September 2026, the event takes place in the picturesque natural stadium “dei Larici” in Piazzòl, Castello-Molina di Fiemme.
At the heart of the festival are the competitions between woodcutters, where strength, precision and technique come together in a thrilling spectacle. Teams of professionals from the sector compete in various disciplines that evoke daily work in the woods: from felling a tree with a chainsaw to debarking with an axe, from pruning to cutting the trunk and finally dragging the timber.
Alongside the main competition, there is also an individual climbing challenge, which showcases agility and fitness, offering the public moments of pure adrenaline.
The Woodcutter’s Festival is not just about competition, but also about sharing and remembrance: an opportunity to highlight the work of woodcutters, preserve mountain traditions and celebrate the valley’s forest heritage. The atmosphere is that of a great community festival, where the public can experience ancient trades up close and discover the charm of the forest.
With demonstrations, talks and social gatherings, the event becomes an engaging experience for all ages, combining entertainment, culture and local identity.
