Grape Festival

📅 18 September 2026 – 21 September 2026

Event description

From 18 to 21 September 2026, the 51st Grape Festival returns to Monzambano, in the heart of the Mantua morainic hills, just a few kilometres from Lake Garda. It is one of the most eagerly awaited events of the autumn, bringing together food and wine, tradition, history and entertainment.

For four days, the village comes alive with a packed programme of events celebrating the region’s wine-growing culture and its culinary excellence, transforming the historic centre into a meeting place where flavours, music and historical re-enactments offer an immersive experience for visitors of all ages.

Among the most spectacular highlights of the event is the Medieval Re-enactment, taking place on Saturday and Sunday, when the streets of the castle are transported back to the 12th century. Over 400 costumed participants – including nobles, commoners, soldiers, musicians, jugglers, acrobats and craftsmen – will bring to life an extraordinary journey through time, reviving ancient trades, scenes of daily life, duels and travelling shows that will transform the village into an authentic medieval settlement.

Local cuisine will, of course, also take centre stage. The festival stall will offer some of the most iconic dishes of the Mantua tradition, including the famous caponsei, risotto, pumpkin tortelli, braised beef and numerous other local specialities. Every morning, from 7.30 am, visitors will also be able to enjoy the traditional tripe feast in the square.

The Grape Festival also offers an opportunity to discover the wines from the wineries of Monzambano and the Colli Morenici Mantovani, thanks to the presence of the Consorzio Vini Mantovani, which will guide visitors on a journey of discovery through local wine production via tastings and events dedicated to wine culture.

There will be plenty of markets, areas dedicated to street food, craft beer and cocktails, as well as a packed programme of concerts, live music and DJ sets to liven up the evenings of the event, creating a festive atmosphere that will engage both residents and visitors.

Now in its 51st edition, the Grape Festival continues to be one of Monzambano’s flagship events, thanks to the dedication of the many volunteers who, year after year, help keep alive a tradition deeply rooted in the town’s history.

With fine wine, traditional cuisine, performances and a medieval atmosphere, the 2026 Grape Festival invites you to enjoy four days of conviviality and to discover one of the most charming villages in the Mantua area.
