Blessed Virgin of Noli Me Tollere
The festival is part rural and part town. It celebrates the miraculous simulacrum that, according to popular tradition, disappeared from a church where it had been placed in the center of town to reappear in the place where the chapel dedicated to the Virgin stands today. Under the feet of the simulacrum, when it was found, in a marble stone was written “Noli Me Tollere” (do not move me). 2008 marked the eighth centenary of the apparition.
