Vinci Fair

📅 25 July 2026 – 29 July 2026

Event description

From 25 to 29 July 2026, the village of Vinci, in the province of Florence, will once again celebrate its traditions with the Vinci Fair, one of Tuscany’s most eagerly awaited summer events. For five days, Leonardo da Vinci’s birthplace will come alive with shows, historical re-enactments, music, games and entertainment involving the whole of the village.

The 2026 edition revives the formula that proved so successful, with a dual programme combining history and entertainment. The picturesque Vinci Alto, with its medieval village, becomes the setting for a grand journey back to the 13th century, featuring costumed re-enactors, traditional crafts, travelling shows, encampments, street performers and the atmosphere of days gone by. At the same time, Piazza della Libertà, in Vinci Basso, hosts concerts, entertainment, dedicated leisure areas and culinary delights.

Among the most eagerly anticipated events is the return of the traditional Tenzon di Palla, the historic contest pitting the town’s two factions – the Gialli and the Rossi – against one another in a competition brimming with passion and a sense of belonging that engages the entire community.

There is also great anticipation for the spectacular re-enactment of Cecco Santi’s Flight, one of the event’s most iconic moments, accompanied by the historical procession and the evocative closing fireworks display that lights up the medieval village.

The Vinci Fair is the perfect opportunity to discover one of Tuscany’s most charming villages through an event that combines history, folklore, entertainment and a convivial atmosphere. It is an event designed for families, history re-enactment enthusiasts and visitors wishing to experience the authentic atmosphere of the village where Leonardo da Vinci was born.

Admission to the event is free.
