Potato Festival

From 19 to 21 June 2026, the village of San Sosio, in the municipality of Castro dei Volsci, will host a new edition of the Potato Festival, one of the most eagerly awaited culinary events of the summer in the Ciociaria region. Organised by the San Sosio Eventi Association, the festival offers three days of fine food, music and conviviality, celebrating one of the most beloved ingredients of Italian rural tradition.

In the heart of the Ciociaria region, amidst the hills and landscapes that characterise the area of Castro dei Volsci, the festival will welcome visitors, families and lovers of good food with a packed programme of shows and food stalls dedicated to the star of the event: the potato. A simple yet extraordinarily versatile ingredient, it features in numerous recipes that reflect local culture and traditions.

Throughout the event, visitors will be able to sample specialities prepared in a variety of ways: chips, baked potatoes, traditional side dishes, typical dishes from the Ciociaria region, and creative culinary offerings designed to showcase this iconic ingredient of Italian cuisine. The stalls will also offer the chance to discover other local specialities, highlighting the finest food and drink products from the province of Frosinone.

The festival will kick off on Friday 19 June with a concert by the Melodive Female Band, headlining an evening of live music and entertainment. An event that will launch the weekend with energy and excitement, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the festival.

Saturday 20 June will be dedicated to great Italian rock with a concert by Liberi Liberi, one of the most popular Vasco Rossi tribute bands. An opportunity to sing along to the great hits of the rocker from Zocca and spend a festive evening under the summer sky of Ciociaria.

On Sunday 21 June, the programme will be enhanced by AperiPatata, an aperitif accompanied by a DJ set, designed to let you enjoy the sunset in good company with music, good food and fun. Making the evening even more special will be the traditional “Svuota Fusti 2×1”, one of the events most eagerly awaited by participants.

The Potato Festival is the perfect opportunity to discover Castro dei Volsci, one of the most charming villages in the Ciociaria region, and to enjoy a weekend of authentic flavours, entertainment and folk traditions.
