Maria Santissima di Corsignano

📅 15 August 2026 – 25 August 2026

Event description

From 15 to 25 August 2026, Giovinazzo will celebrate its patron saint’s festival in honour of Maria Santissima di Corsignano, one of the most heartfelt and well-attended events of the Apulian summer, bringing together faith, tradition, culture and entertainment.

Eleven days of religious and civic celebrations will bring the town to life with a packed programme of events taking place in the historic centre, along the seafront and in the town’s main squares. The festivities will kick off with the traditional Fiera dell’Assunta on 15 August and will continue for residents and visitors alike until 25 August.

The religious programme will feature the Novena to Our Lady of Corsignano, solemn liturgical celebrations, processions and the evocative transfer of the image and mantle of Our Lady, moments that bear witness to the deep bond between the community and its patron saint.

Among the most eagerly awaited events are the 57th Historical Parade of Giovinazzo, the Palio dei Rioni, the brass band concerts, the evenings dedicated to live music and Giovinazzo’s emigrants, as well as performances by artists and groups from across the region.

The festivities will reach their climax on 23 August with the solemn pontifical mass and the traditional procession of the Sacred Icon of Madonna di Corsignano through the town’s streets, accompanied by marching bands and thousands of worshippers. In the evening, the Molo di Levante will provide the backdrop for a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the sea and sky above Giovinazzo.

The festivities will conclude with “Frequenze Urbane – La Città che Suona”, a musical journey through the town’s streets, followed by a concert by Antonio Mezzancella and the draw for the Patron Saint’s Festival lottery.

The Patron Saint’s Festival of Madonna di Corsignano is one of Giovinazzo’s most distinctive events, a unique opportunity to discover the traditions, spirituality and hospitality of one of the most charming towns on the Apulian coast.
