Cilento Cherry Festival
Event description
This event ended on 7 June 2026.
The Cilento Cherry Festival returns to bring Carullo, a hamlet of Casal Velino, to life with its tenth edition, scheduled for 5–7 June 2026. A much-loved event in the heart of Cilento that celebrates one of the region’s most iconic fruits: the cherry, affectionately known as ‘cerasa’ in the local dialect.
For three consecutive evenings, the small village will be transformed into the “land of cherries”, welcoming visitors, families and tourists with aromas, flavours and traditions that capture the authentic spirit of Cilento. From 8.00 pm, the food stalls will offer a rich menu based on cherries, accompanied by typical local dishes prepared according to ancient recipes from the farming tradition.
Among the new features of the 2026 edition are new dishes dedicated to the Cilento cherry, capable of enhancing both sweet creations and surprising pairings from the Salerno culinary tradition. The festival thus represents a special opportunity to discover the authentic flavours of the region and enjoy an experience immersed in the conviviality of Southern Italy’s folk festivals.
Each evening will be accompanied by the folk music of Manuel Scarpitta, with rhythms and sounds that will make the atmosphere even more engaging and festive. There will also be plenty of activities for the little ones, thanks to the children’s entertainment programme running throughout the festival, making it the perfect event for families too.
The Sagra della Cerasa Cilentana thus confirms its status as one of the most eagerly awaited events of early summer in Cilento, a journey through tradition, music and flavour that showcases local excellence and the community’s strong bond with its land.
