Spring Palio

On 5 and 6 June 2026, Gualdo Tadino will once again be steeped in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages with the evocative Spring Palio, a historical re-enactment dedicated to young people and children that brings the town centre to life with parades, competitions and traditional customs.

For two days, the town is filled with colours, drums, banners and period costumes, transforming into a vast medieval setting where the districts compete to win the coveted Palio.

The highlight of the event is the solemn Historical Procession, a spectacular parade of participants in medieval costume that winds through the streets of the town, evoking the history and traditions of Gualdo Tadino.

Alongside the procession, the main attraction is the competition to win the Palio, a deeply felt contest involving the town’s districts in tests of skill, team spirit and determination.

The festive atmosphere is made even more engaging by the presence of young flag-wavers, musicians, performances and medieval taverns, where visitors can sample traditional dishes and enjoy moments of conviviality inspired by the traditions of the past.

The Spring Palio is thus an event that brings together history, folklore and community participation, involving families, residents and visitors in a festival that celebrates the medieval identity of Gualdo Tadino.
