Trasimeno Music Festival 2026

📅 24 June 2026 – 30 June 2026

From 24 to 30 June 2026, the Trasimeno Music Festival returns – one of Umbria’s most prestigious international classical music festivals, bringing together great performers, historic venues and evocative settings between Perugia and Lake Trasimeno.

Now in its 21st edition, the festival is under the artistic direction of the renowned Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt and offers a packed programme of concerts, talks and cultural events hosted in some of the most charming locations in the Umbrian region.

Among the key venues for the 2026 edition:

  • St Peter’s Basilica;
  • the Teatro del Pavone;
  • the San Francesco al Prato Auditorium;
  • the Castle of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Magione;
  • the picturesque little square of San Savino overlooking the lake.

The programme will feature internationally renowned artists and ensembles, including the composer and conductor Sir John Rutter, the Wanderer Sextet, the Perugia Chamber Orchestra and numerous guest soloists.

One of the most eagerly awaited events is the concert on 27 June at the Auditorium San Francesco al Prato, where Sir John Rutter will present his opera *Visions* alongside works by Grieg, Barber and Debussy.

The festival will also host the writer and television producer James Runcie, author of The Grantchester Mysteries, who will take part in talks and performances dedicated to Bach and classical music.

The Trasimeno Music Festival thus reaffirms its status as an event of great cultural prestige, capable of showcasing Umbria’s artistic and scenic heritage through world-class international music.
