Medieval Banquet 2026

On Monday 1 June 2026, Bevagna will once again be steeped in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages with the enchanting Medieval Banquet of the Mercato delle Gaite, one of the most eagerly awaited events of this historic Umbrian festival.

Against the splendid backdrop of Piazza Filippo Silvestri, from 8.30 pm, the historic centre will be transformed into a scene from a bygone era, with soft lighting, medieval music and performances inspired by 13th-century traditions.

The 2026 edition will be dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi and will be entitled “Laudato Sii – In the Time of Brother Francis”, offering an immersive experience that evokes the spiritual and convivial charm of medieval Umbria.

Participants will be able to sample an authentic medieval menu based on ancient cookbooks of the period, featuring dishes inspired by 13th-century Umbrian cuisine. The dinner will be accompanied by live medieval music, dramatic readings and theatrical performances that will make the evening’s atmosphere even more captivating.

The Medieval Banquet offers a special opportunity to experience the Mercato delle Gaite in a unique way, sharing the charm of medieval dining in one of Umbria’s most beautiful villages.
