Cantine Aperte
“Cantine Aperte” is an annual event held in the picturesque village of Sant’Angelo Le Fratte, renowned for its unique wine cellars, skilfully carved into the rock of the mountain overlooking the village. Organised by the local tourist association with the support of hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers, this festival is an unmissable event for lovers of wine and fine food.
The event has deep roots, having been successfully celebrated for over a decade, and takes place on 12, 13 and 14 August in the picturesque setting of “La Cupa”, where the cellars open their doors to the public in a festive and convivial atmosphere. During these days, visitors have the opportunity to embark on a food and wine tour that will lead them to discover the wonders of the local area.
As they wander through the cellars, guests can sample a wide selection of regional wines, renowned for their quality and traditional winemaking techniques, often passed down from generation to generation. Alongside the wines, local cheeses and other traditional produce are also on offer, combining to create a rich and unforgettable sensory experience. Every taste is an invitation to discover authentic flavours, the result of sun-kissed lands and the passion of those who work in these wineries.
The event is not only an opportunity to satisfy the palate, but also a time for socialising and sharing. The various side events, such as tasting workshops, meetings with producers and live music, further enrich the experience, creating a festive and convivial atmosphere.
