Vernasca Silver Flag 2026
Event description
This event ended on 21 June 2026.
The Vernasca Silver Flag 2026 celebrates its 30th edition from 19 to 21 June along the historic route between Castell’Arquato and Vernasca, in the heart of the Val d’Arda. A unique event on the European motorsport scene, combining history, passion and spectacle.
Originally conceived as a re-enactment of the famous hill climb held between 1953 and 1972, the event revives the evocative 8.9 km route, characterised by a fast opening section and a second part full of bends and hairpin turns. Today, it is no longer a speed competition, but a dynamic conservation and restoration competition, where the stars of the show are extraordinary historic racing cars.
Organised by the CPAE (Club Piacentino Automotoveicoli d’Epoca), the Vernasca Silver Flag attracts collectors and enthusiasts from all over the world every year, bringing iconic cars to the roads of Emilia, including Formula 1 single-seaters and legendary rally and endurance cars.
The 2026 edition pays tribute to a fascinating and timeless theme: sponsors in motorsport, key players in an aesthetic and cultural revolution that began in the 1960s. Iconic liveries such as Martini, Gulf, Marlboro and Alitalia have left their mark on racing history, becoming indelible symbols associated with legendary models such as the Lancia Stratos, Porsche 917 and Ford GT40.
Among the most significant innovations is the introduction of bio-petrol, in line with the ASI Net-zero Classic project, to reduce emissions and make the event more sustainable without compromising the charm of historic engines.
The Vernasca Silver Flag is not just a motoring event, but a true journey through the history of motorsport, amidst the roar of engines, breathtaking landscapes and timeless passion.
