Cherry Festival

The Cherry Festival in Lari is an unmissable event that takes place every year between the end of May and the beginning of June, celebrating one of the most delicious and representative fruits of the Pisan Hills: the Lari cherry PGI. With a centuries-old tradition dating back to the 16th century, this event takes place in the picturesque village of Lari, which is transformed into a sea of red thanks to the baskets of cherries that color the squares and streets.
The event lasts two weekends and offers a program full of activities for all tastes. In Piazza Matteotti, local producers will display their cherries and other typical food and wine products from the area. In addition to the market exhibition, the festival includes cultural events, live music, and folklore performances that enliven the village, creating a unique festive atmosphere.
A particularly eagerly awaited moment is the award ceremony for the producer who has obtained the cherry with the best organoleptic characteristics, awarded with the Ciliegia d’Oro (Golden Cherry), a symbol of the quality and tradition of local production.
The 2025 edition of the Lari Cherry Festival will take place on the following dates:
May 31 – June 2
June 7 – 8
