The Anguilla Necropolis dates back to the Bronze Age (13th century BC) and it was found in 1982 in the south of the village of Ribera, in the locality of Contrada Anguilla. Is constituted by the tombs of two types: artificial cave and to room. Some are preceded by a “dromos”, a long corridor from 1.5 to 5 m from where you are accessing the true and own tomb. The latter consists of one or two rooms with a dome-shaped vault (Thòlos), with a step on which was placed the deceased and the votive objects (vases, rings, weapons, tools). Are the only tombs for size and type in western Sicily.
