The Municipal Wine Cellar of Castell’Arquato is housed in the rooms of the 13th-century Palazzo del Podestà. Its construction, commissioned by Alberto Scoto, was completed in 1296.

The Palazzo was the seat of the Podestà government and the residence of the Count of Santa Fiora.

From the end of the 16th century until 1850, the upper floors were occupied by the magistrate’s court, while the rooms now used as the Wine Cellar were first used as a prison and later as a salt warehouse.
The interior rooms, with seating for 50, can accommodate you for a tasting, a romantic aperitif or a lunch of Piacenza DOP cold cuts and cheeses.
The tasting room can accommodate up to 30 people and is also suitable for events, groups and business meetings.

Wine tastings led by expert sommeliers or oenologists from the Val d’Arda wineries are organised periodically.

We have chosen and selected the most famous and representative delicacies of our tradition.

You can taste typical products from Piacenza and purchase wines from the vineyards that line the lush surrounding hills.
Our platters are ideal for a quick and tasty snack, to replace a full meal with quality food or to satisfy your hunger with an afternoon aperitif.
