Included since 2007 in the Colombano Romean Ecomuseum visitor route, the Chapel of the Annunciation in Oulme has recently been restored. It features a monumental St. Christopher and the Annunciation (1533) on the exterior, while inside the entire apsidal area houses a rare pictorial cycle entirely devoted to scenes from the life of the Virgin, dated 1534. The stories of Mary’s life unfold in fifteen panels arranged in four overlapping registers. The entire pictorial cycle has been assigned by critics to an anonymous fresco painter, identifiable with the author of the pictorial cycle of St. Sebastian in Plampinet, who was also active at the chapels of Notre Dame du Coignet and Sts. Andrew and James in Horres (Bardonecchia).
