Also known as the Church of Santa Maria del Suffragio, the Church of Purgatory is located in the historic center of Peschici, in Piazza del Popolo.
Originally it was used by Benedictine monks as an ossuary. It appears on the outside with a beautiful bell tower and an attached clock.
Inside the walls there are probably frescos of the Renaissance period, with a remarkable painting of Paradise, Purgatory and Inferno on the ceiling.
