The library has facsimiles of all Leonardo da Vinci’s manuscripts and drawings, as well as all of his literary works, from the first edition of the 1651 Treatise on Painting to important publications up to 1910.
It also contains more than seven thousand monographs in a variety of languages, film films, posters, maps, photos, slides, x-rays of paintings, etc. It also possesses a small section containing writings by authors contemporary with or after Leonardo’s death that refer to his activities.
