Near the village of Gradella, in Pandino, is the Visconti Castle, one of the best-preserved Visconti castles in Lombardy, built at the behest of Bernabò Visconti and Regina della Scala starting around 1355, the building still has most of its original architectural structures and 14th-century pictorial decorations, mainly representing geometric motifs alternating with the noble insignia of the Visconti and Della Scala families. Inside the castle are definitely not to be missed:
-the inner arena and upper loggia and the numerous rooms frescoed with original 14th-century paintings;
-the rooms dedicated to medieval life: the hunting room, the Tarantasio dragon room and the Tarot room;
-the exhibition dedicated to Marius Stroppa “Marius Genius and Machine,” a permanent exhibition of the multifaceted artist from Padua; he was a graphic designer, illustrator, urban planner, and inventor.
