What to see in Mezzano, Trento, Trentino-South Tyrol

Share

As always, the long Dolomites winters compel the inhabitants to make abundant stock of firewood to heat their homes. And, even today, along the endless canisèle, in anditi or on the balconies of the houses - however in sunny position and next to the fireplace - arise ordered and sometimes imposing stacks of wood: the canzèi. Each canzèl is a small masterpiece of parsimony, skill and accuracy, but also a vivid and iridescent palette of warm hues of wood that stain tracks of Mezzano. The itinerary touches the most characteristic points, where "the signs scattered of rural" are still visible and traceable to five themes: the water system, the architecture, the inscriptions, the paintings and the orchards. Before the visit please refer to the dedicated map, available at the tourist office in the town hall or in all retailers.
