Casteldilago

What to see in Arrone, Terni, Umbria

this ancient medieval village, was born on a small hill around a castle of which today remains only a few ruins. Worth a visit is the church of San Valentino leaned on the rocky wall on which rests the country; the church has a 16th century portal with a lunette to whose inside there is a fresco of the Madonna and Child.

Deserves a mention also the church of San Nicola, also of the Sixteenth Century. Inside there are frescoes painted by an anonymous, perhaps a pupil of Spain. The apse is decorated with frescoes depicting the paintings of the Eternal Father, the Madonna and the Saints. Landmark building is also the old mill in the second half of the Sixteenth Century. Are still visible the old mechanisms of processing and the basin of loading the products.
