The church of San Giorgio is located in the historic center of the ancient village of Grosio, near a small square with a characteristic fountain. The church, consisting of a single nave with a rectangular presbytery and a semicircle apse, has a simple gabled façade defined by two side pilasters and a pattern of blind arches in the eaves. Inside, there are frescoes by Giovannino da Sondalo, Valorsa and other local artists, from Ticino, Brescia and from the Como-Milan area that were produced in very interesting decorations, whose combination gives the church a particular charm. The presbytery is covered by a cross vault with frescoes of the four doctors of the Western Church: Ambrogio, Agostino, Gerolamo and Gregorio Magno by Andrea De Passeris, also author of the fresco of Christ Pantocrator with the symbols of the four Evangelists found in the apsidal basin and that of Christ with the 12 Apostles in the apse itself. In short, A real art incubator.
