the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist in Pomarance is witnessed in the medieval period. It rises on a Etruscan necropolis and in the first decades of the Nineteenth century was radically changed while preserving the original system only the facade to blind arches. The interior, with three naves, is decorated by an impressive cycle of frescoes with scenes from the life of Christ made by the painter neoclassical Luigi Ademollo in 1837.

It also signal the Madonna and Saints by Vincenzo Tamagni (1525), and the Annunciation by Cristoforo Roncalli, known as Pomarancio. In Canonica is conserved a Madonna with the child of the sienese school (1329). In the inner facade an epitaph recalls the humanist poet, of Greek origin, Michele Marullo, died in the waters of the river Cecina in 1500.
