What to see in Massa Marittima, Grosseto, Tuscany

the fortification was built, on several occasions, between the XIII and XIV century. The work began in 1228 with the construction of the tower of the clock and continued with the construction of the door of the silicas and the remaining fortified complex. The place became a strategic importance, after that the nearby Castle of Monteregio was sold to some local families; the entire structure was, in fact, functions of sighting but also defense and offense.
