Welcome ‘to’ Reggio Calabria: Magna Graecia at the tip of the boot

Welcome 'to' Reggio Calabria: la Magna Grecia in punta allo stivale

Reggio Calabria – synonymous with ancient history, entertainment and good food – is undoubtedly one of the jewels in the crown of the Italian peninsula.

With its Riace bronzes, Greek walls and numerous archeological sites, Reggio Calabria is a must-see destination for anyone wishing to immerse themselves in ancient history, particularly that of Magna Grecia.

Reggio Calabria is a place to visit if you want to immerse yourself in ancient history, particularly that of Magna Grecia.

Reggio Calabria Welcome è the project launched in 2019 by the Chamber of Commerce of the metropolitan city to promote all this: to retrace the value, history and wonderful territory full of culture and customs, located at the tip of the boot. A collective brand that brings together operators and organisations committed to promoting a destination of inestimable value.

The project focuses on tourists’ enjoyment of the Reggio Calabria area, and is structured on two fronts: heritage, linked to culture, and sport activity.

The idea is to discover and exploit the wonders of this area from all points of view: on a cultural level, thanks to the many museums, archaeological sites and villages it has to offer, and in the form of experiential activities. Visitors will be able to choose sports, food and wine and recreational activities that will allow them to experience the wonders that the metropolitan area of Reggio Calabria has to offer: from viewing the seabed, strolling through the streets of the various villages, to trekking in the Parco dell’Aspromonte or a trip to admire the cascata del Marmàrico, the highest in Calabria and the southern Apennines.

All this is possible thanks to the organisation and commitment of the Chamber of Commerce, which, together with 39 operators in the sector and 17 public bodies that have so far joined the event, promises a unique, high-level tourist experience.

Reggio Calabria Welcome, the event that will be held in Reggio Calabria, Italy.

Reggio Calabria Welcome, with its blue and orange logo whose elements recall culture and the territory, is a project that starts with lovers of the area.

More details on the project can be found in the website.
