What to see and what to do in Metaponto Lido

Basilicata as well as other regions of Italy is a land rich in history and culture, crossed by the ancient Greeks and Romans and enriched by the Gothic and Romanesque styles that will leave you breathless.

The village of Metaponto has very ancient origins, since 1950 is a hamlet of Bernalda in the province of Matera and the inhabitants have been able to preserve and pass on the beauty of the place, starting with the castle built in 1060 and recently restored, first thing to see, and then immediately after move to Metaponto Lido, seaside resort with golden sand and crystal clear sea.

Metaponto

The Metaponto Lido is easily accessible for those arriving from the plane of Bari, which is 120 km away, or from the airport of Brindisi, which is 120 km away.

Metaponto Lido can also be reached by train, it is 1500 meters from the station of Policoro, or by car from the north along the highway 14 exit Taranto for Reggio Calabria - Metaponto, highway A3 exit Potenza, State Road 407 Potenza - Metaponto.

If you arrived from the South, take the 106 state road to Reggio Calabria.

If after spending a few days on the beach, you want to change location, know that along Metaponto Lido you can also find a water park or rather the Acqua Azzurra Park, a park full of attractions tailored to the family, suitable for both adults and children who want to spend a day always on the water but not on the beach.

The Aquapark is open every day from Monday to Friday from 10 to 18 and Sunday from 9:30 to 18:30, the water park is also equipped with all amenities, restaurant, area equipped for children, large and small dinghy rental structure:

A curiosity with its 50,000 square meters the Acqua Azzurra Park, is one of the largest water parks in the area.

Also if you decide to spend your holidays in Metaponto Lido during the first week of Augustus, watch the preparations and celebrations in honor of St. Leo the Great.
