Grape and Lambrusco Grasparossa Festival

The Sagra dell’Uva e del Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro (Grape and Lambrusco Grasparossa Festival of Castelvetro) is one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Modenese autumn, capable of exalting the deep bond between the hillside village and its symbolic product: Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOP.

Every year, during the third and fourth weekends of September – in 2025 from September 20 to 28 – the village dresses up for the festival with a program full of events that combine food and wine, culture, music and entertainment, involving the whole area: from the charming historic center to the shopping streets and local stores.

The beating heart of the event is the Lambrusco Grasparossa Tasting Route, set up among the town’s squares and narrow streets. Here, in characteristic wooden kiosks, 15 wineries offer tastings of their wines, offering visitors the chance to discover and compare different interpretations of Lambrusco Grasparossa. To participate, the traditional “Sagra dell’Uva kit”, with glass goblet, shoulder strap, tasting booklet and route map, is available.

The festival continues with:

• Tastings and guided tours of the area’s wineries with special openings;
• Food stands with typical offerings and street food for all tastes;
• Markets and shopping along Via Sinistra Guerro, including typical products, crafts and clothing;
• Shows, exhibitions, street bands and entertainment for young and old, making the village a stage of sounds, colors and merriment.

The Grape and Lambrusco Grasparossa Festival is much more than a wine festival: it is an event that involves the whole community, from volunteer associations to farmers, from wineries to artisan workshops, and offers tourists a unique opportunity to experience Castelvetro in an evocative setting, among tradition, conviviality and authentic flavors.
