It is located in the countryside east of Gavoi, in a flat area on the Lidana plateau, within the enclosure of “Muristenes”.

The structure is built with squared granite ashlars and has simple, but large volumes, inspired by the island’s Romanesque cathedrals, though without taking up their decorative apparatus. The layout is rectangular with a deep apse located to the northeast.

The gabled facade has a simple architraved portal surmounted by a large circular window. Along the sides, tall semicircular windows open between slender pilasters. At the back, the deep apse narrows significantly from the hall.

Before the present church, there was a small medieval church, traces of which are still visible in front of the new structure. This old church was demolished in 1909 after the consecration of the new church.

The surrounding area is thickly wooded. The muristenes, arranged in a horseshoe shape around the church, border a large dirt clearing. The church can be reached by paved roads, with signaling present along Provincial Road 30.

The Church of Our Lady of Itria, in the countryside of Gavoi on the Lidana plateau, is a granite building dating back to 1903, inspired by Sardinian Romanesque cathedrals and surrounded by traditional muristenes.

[101800
76192,76190
30159
post-311726","what-to-see","type-what-to-see","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","village-conntection-gavoi-en","what-to-see-region-and-provinces-nuoro-en","what-to-see-region-and-provinces-sardinia","what-to-see-category-place-of-cult
["GET
