The Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli in Pianetto \u00e8 a historical site of great importance and fascinating Renaissance architectural forms. It was built in 1497 to commemorate the miracle of a tablet depicting the Virgin Mary who was seen weeping and pouring milk-like drops from her breast.<\/p>\n
The interior \u00e8 is dominated by a small temple extending toward the center of the single nave, where \u00e8 the tablet of the miracle, an object of great veneration, is kept. Also inside the church are prestigious paintings dating from the 16th and 18th centuries, including a Visitation painted by Flemish artist Giovanni Stradano in 1599. The sandstone decorations with noble insignia and coats of arms are of extraordinary beauty and value.<\/p>\n
