This historic structure, despite being built on earlier foundations, dates back to the 16th century when the Ramirez de Montalvo family obtained the fiefdom of the entire village.<\/p>\n<p>The Montalvo family, a family of Spanish origin who moved to Florence in the retinue of Eleonora da Toledo, received honors and recognition for their loyalty to Cosimo I de&#8217; Medici.
