The MaM, the Monteriggioni Archaeological Museum, is located in the restored monumental complex of Abbadia Isola, one of the cultural centers of excellence in the local area. This “indoor-outdoor” museum aims to tell the story of the abbey through explanatory panels and open-air features. Its two exhibition sections, “The Wine Cellar” and “Sigeric Hall”, offer visitors a journey back in time, from protohistory to the Middle Ages, through reconstructions, models, multimedia tools, historical artifacts and specific information panels on the history of the Monteriggion area.<\/p>\n
In constant evolution, the MaM provides for the periodic enrichment of the exhibits, as well as offering continuous educational activities and promoting territorial research. The facility is positioned as a dynamic cultural hub, with always new discoveries and acquisitions planned, designed to stimulate visitors’ interest and learning about Monteriggioni’s rich history.<\/p>\n
