An ancient Roman city founded at the end of the first century B.C. in an area of strategic importance for the control of the communication routes that connected the Po Valley with the Alpine passes and Liguria.

The remains of this town were unearthed by excavations by Benese scholars Giuseppe Assandria and Giovanni Vacchetta between 1892 and 1909.

The archaeological area presents a path, supported by explanatory panels with reconstructions of the original environments, that follows the country road starting from the small church of San Pietro. The finds were sorted by Assandria and Vacchetta into the Civic Archaeological Museum housed in Palazzo Lucerna in Rorà. Excavation campaigns are still ongoing.
