It is an exceptional structure, once a place of worship of the Romans, dating back to the 2nd-1st centuries BC.<\/p>\n<p>The Roman sanctuary complex today looks like a kind of wide sloping terrace, which presumably once had several levels, resulting in a scenic impact. It consists of three buildings: a central temple, a sacellum (minor cult building) to the west, and a majestic two-aisled, double-columned portico to the north and east.
