{"id":310663,"date":"2024-08-09T22:15:18","date_gmt":"2024-08-09T20:15:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.e-borghi.com\/what-to-see\/deruta-church-of-santa-maria-di-portosalvo-2\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T15:12:05","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T13:12:05","slug":"deruta-church-of-santa-maria-di-portosalvo","status":"publish","type":"what-to-see","link":"https:\/\/www.e-borghi.com\/en\/what-to-see\/deruta-church-of-santa-maria-di-portosalvo\/","title":{"rendered":"Church of Santa Maria di Portosalvo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Located in the center of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.e-borghi.com\/en\/village\/chianalea\/\"><strong>Chianalea,<\/strong><\/a> built in 1700, rich in paintings and sacred furnishings, it is a beautiful example of eighteenth-century art for its harmonious and delicate architectural style both inside and outside.<br \/>\nDamaged by the earthquake since 1783 and destroyed by that of 1908, the church was rebuilt at the expense of the congregation of sailors and the inhabitants of the country.<\/p>\n<p>The building is small in size with only one nave; you can only access from the main central door and entering, on the right, you can see a painting on canvas of Saint Lucia Vergine. On the left is one of the two white marble altars, on the wall of which there is a crucifix carved in wood. Further ahead and always on the right there is a carved wooden pulpit with eighteenth-century gold finishes of discreet local carver.
