Access to the fortress requires crossing a bridge. The main environment is characterized by a stone portal built with a pointed arch, on which stand the noble coat of arms of the Ruffo family and a plaque celebrating the restoration of the castle carried out in the 16th century.
Given its dominant position over the Strait of Messina, a lighthouse was built in 1913 to provide a reference for ships crossing the strait. The Scylla Lighthouse, a small white tower with a black base, is still active today and is operated by the Navy.

PUBLIC OPENING HOURS
daily
from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

TICKET COST
– Ordinary ticket price: € 2.00
– For children up to 10 years old: free admission
– For individuals over 70 years of age: free admission

Scilla’s Ruffo Castle is one of the most characteristic and typical elements of the landscape, overlooking the Strait of Messina and the city

[50590
76121,76125
101776
post-310661","what-to-see","type-what-to-see","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","village-conntection-chianalea-it","what-to-see-region-and-provinces-calabria-en","what-to-see-region-and-provinces-reggio-calabria-en","what-to-see-category-castle-rocca-fortress
["GET
