The Rupe Magna is the largest alpine rock that has ever been carved by man and houses more than 5,000 incisions placed chronologically between the end of the Neolithic and the Iron Age. The great variety of the themes represented indicates how the Valtellina daily protohistoric life could be carried out. The practice of engraving the rock also remains in historical age, two crosses are evident evidence of Christian religiosity.
