The hike, approximately 7 km long, winds its way through woods, valleys and ancient paths, offering enchanting views in every season.

The trail initially crosses the dense Macchia Catana, a vast wooded area that leads into the heart of the Nebrodi landscape. From here, you reach the Fichera Valley, which appears dry and silent in summer, whilst in the winter months it comes to life thanks to a stream flowing down towards the valley. The riverbed is characterised by large natural stones, allowing you to cross it easily even when there is water.

Continuing along the path, you reach Portella Grassetta, where there is a large drinking trough, a testament to the area’s pastoral tradition. The route then continues towards Passo dell’Acero, partly following the Flascio stream until it reaches Passo Tre Nasche, in an environment increasingly surrounded by greenery.

The final stretch of the walk passes through a picturesque wood of ancient oak trees, leading to a majestic maple tree that symbolically marks the end of the main route. However, for more experienced hikers, the trail continues on to Cima Forestale Zarbata, some 4 km away, from where it is possible to descend towards Case del Fascio and reach the SS 120 road linking Etna and the Madonie.

This itinerary offers an authentic experience in the heart of the Nebrodi, where nature, silence and unspoilt landscapes accompany every step, making the walk ideal for those who love trekking and exploring the area.

Discover the Contrada Giuffré trail in the Nebrodi Mountains: a hike through woods, valleys and panoramic views up to Cima Zarbata.

[50674
76202,76196
101777
post-310333","what-to-see","type-what-to-see","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","village-conntection-floresta-it","what-to-see-region-and-provinces-messina-en","what-to-see-region-and-provinces-sicily","what-to-see-category-nature-park-reserve
["GET
