Its location and its dedication to the Archangel Michael, a figure particularly venerated in the Lombard world, reflect the strong link between faith and the defence of the territory.<\/p>\n<p>Above the entrance door is a Romanesque-style lunette depicting Christ Pantocrator, shown holding the Book of Life and flanked by two kneeling angels.
